Student projects are added irregularly and in no particular order. These are projects stretching back to 2002, from students in their 1st, 2nd and 3rd year and using vastly different tech. Thus; we recommend you use the tag cloud to the right to filter the projects you’re interested in!
With our Unreal Engine 5 Boss-run Demo “Dusk of Gods”, we set out to create an immersive multiphase boss fight, empowering players to use magic during combat and for swift movement across a compact yet beautiful map. This demo is a remake of a game showcased at last year’s GGC, lovingly recreated by a team of two game students eager to hone their Unreal Engine skills and delve deeper into its mechanics.
Maere is a 3D isometric single-player survival horror game. Assume the role of Maksim, a man plunged into darkness as his wife mysteriously vanished into a forest shrouded in sinister legends. Navigate through haunting landscapes and uncover the chilling secrets lurking within. Can you confront the old evil and unravel the mystery before it’s too late?
In this 2D co-op firefighting arcade game, you and up to 2 friends play as water elementals trying to save a flaming forest. But fire elementals are fanning the flames. You must simultaneously pump and steady the unwieldy fire hose, saving the trees and damaging the enemies. And you must drive the fire truck to dodge the fireballs flying toward you!
The physical arcade will make use of 3 inputs: the tyre, the hose, and the pump. They are meant to be played by one player each, but it is playable with only 2 people. The pump increases the range of the hose, while the hose aims. The hose sprays water in a line that extinguishes burning trees and fire elementals. The players move as a unit in the fire truck. It moves left or right as the tyre is spun forward or backwards.
If fire hits the truck 5 times, the players lose. Otherwise, they win after ~2 minutes of playtime. They get points for extinguishing fires and fire elementals, and they lose points for letting trees die. Their score can appear on the scoreboard in the game itself.
