Introduction to game development 2005 – this year we expanded the course somewhat. We began with holding a concept document workshop, were students were given roles and fitting tasks to perform. The class (now conveniently divided into teams) then got to choose from this pile of concepts to implement.

So the recipe is simple:
1. hold a concept document workshop where people are given responsibilities to fulfil.
2. give them tools (Flash and Photoshop) and point to info and tutorials (online)
3. teach them how to make a simple space shooter, and a little Photoshop.
4. Tell them “Choose a concept, work in this group, deliver a game on this date”
5. …
6. Profit!

Like magic – they’ll come running with scissors games. 🙂

London’s Burning is an extremely ambitious mod of the old tactical shooter Operation Flashpoint, implementing features and environments not even supported by the poor old engine – such as 500 live NPCs and a vast London cityscape.

Anthill Aces

Anthill Aces is a Multiplayer Air-Racing-Game. You play ants that ride on other insects and race for glory in what we would call the “ordinary” world, but from an ants perspective gets a lot different.

Ride your insects to places you never thought existed (in a simple kitchen) and experience a world where the ants rule dominant.

Crestfallen

Crestfallen is an action adventure game, playable in both first- and third person perspective.

A distant future consists of small camps of human inhabitants, having no contact with each other and not really knowing anything about what happened. You need to get home. But, where did you actually come from? The more you search for your origin, the more you reveal about this place you’ve come to. What is the real relation with your village and the world?
