Slingshot

Slingshot is a team based space shooter game with focus on navigation through the forces of gravity. The Slingshot team (Abstract Reality) has labored to produce a physics based experience, coupled with a traditional space shooter, and creating a new kind of game play which is unique on today’s market. Using the gravity around each planet the players can go into orbits to change direction. They can also fire their engines at the opportune moment to slingshot around the map while saving their fuel.

Slingshot´s primary game mode on GGC is called Gold Rush. It involves two teams of players who compete against each other to win the most precious golden asteroids for their home world. Every team member has a ship equipped with both weapons and a grappling hook, which is the players’ most important interface. Using the tools will allow the players to tow asteroids into orbit around their home world to score points. The team with most points wins.

Our teams are Planet Freedom and Planet Brotherhood. Both teams have a whacky assortment of characters and ships based upon familiar caricatures from the cold war’s space race.

The graphic tools that we have used in development are 3D max, Photoshop CS4 and Zbrush.
Our programmers have worked with Visual Studio 2010, XNA 4.0, Farseer Physics Engine, F-MOD (Audio mode) and .NET ( Dot NET) for networking.

Colorless (2010)

Colorless is a short game revolving around eight specific levels with a focus on co-operation and the concept of closeness.

While players move around freely in the world, the camera pans out when the players are further away from eachother. The two main characters have different skill sets and they need to be combined in order to overcome obstacles and take care of enemies. Basic skills are running, jumping, kicking, sliding, opening doors and climbing. Leveldesign force the players to split up but, the only way to regenerate health is to stay close to eachother, the most effective way of recharging energy is by hugging!

Colorless was awarded “Best Serious Game” at Gotland Game Awards 2010.

Dwarfs

Dwarfs was released on Steam!

Dwarfs is an Arcade/Strategy game for PC and Xbox360 where you are put in the middle of a vast, underground playfield. The goal of the game is to explore the randomly generated map as much as possible, while at the same time protecting your Town Hall from harm, such as water floods, lava or hostile creatures.

Dwarfs! at the Gotland Game Awards 2010

What makes this game unique and interesting is that your greatest asset is also your greatest threat: the Digging Dwarfs. While you need them to explore the dungeon and increase your score, their random behavior is the source of most your troubles. Taking control of them is easy, but costs gold, so you have to be careful with your choices! Pointing a Dwarf towards those juicy minerals might look tempting, but what if you need that gold to stop lava later on? In Dwarfs, there is a constant flow of risk/reward decision making.

Dwarfs! was awarded “Pwnage Award” at Gotland Game Awards 2010, and went on to win Game of the Year at the Swedish Game Awards 2010.
